Hunter Legend 38
This twin keel Hunter Legend 38 was built in 2005, bought at the Boat Show by the present owner and launched 2006. Odyssey offers a comfortable and roomy cruising yacht, combined with speed and easy handling.
The owner negotiated a high specification at the time of buying so she comes with extras such as real leather upholstery, a full size fridge, Flex-Teak on the whole deck, and a comprehensive package of instrumentation. Since then he has continued to maintain and upgrade her so that she now presents as a boat where one would be hard put to think of an improvement.
She has a generous sized cockpit, with an integral bimini onto the arch. At the end of a day's sailing the cockpit provides comfortable seating with removable cushions, and a table that can be folded out to take drinks. There is a transom and a hot and cold transom shower.
The steering pedestal with leather covered wheel has compass, engine control, guard and brake. Chart plotter and instruments are mounted here including the large screen Raymarine C80 colour chart plotter.
She has a backstay-less rig, stack pack and lazy jacks. The mainsail cars make for easy hoisting. The headsail is furling. Lines lead aft for easy control.
The accommodation of the Legend 38 is impressive. Headroom in the saloon is 6 ft 6 ins, and her beam of 12 ft 11ins provides a feeling of space. In the saloon the cream leather upholstery goes well with the polished teak woodwork. The table size is generous, even when not fully extended. This table drops down to provide a base for a double berth. There is a flat screen TV, dvd and radio.
The galley has a domestic sized fridge, 2 burner hob with oven and grill, microwave, storage, twin sinks and a cabinet for drying crockery. Work surfaces are Corian.
The chart table is large, with a nav station including a second chart plotter.
The large aft cabin provides a comfortable double berth, padded seats, and storage. There is a door starboard of this cabin leads into the galley area/ saloon. A further door to port enters the heads, providing a useful en suite arrangement.
The heads has two doors which can be independently locked; one into the aft cabin and one into the saloon. The heads comprises two compartments, one with the sea toilet and shower, and one with the washbasin in vanity unit with Corian top. There is a holding tank.
A further v berth is provided forward. The two cabins, the double in the saloon, and a further single in the saloon means this boat offer seven comfortable berths.
This is a well maintained example of the Hunter Legend 38 and merits serious consideration.
