Loch Broom Post Boat - £1,750

NOW REDUCED Built by Bill Bailliff at his yard in Overton, Lancashire, circa 1996, this traditional style craft is derived from the original Loch Broom Post Boats, which were used for the delivery of mail to the remote communities on Loch Broom, Wester Ross. They could be rowed, sailed or motored.

The last surviving original example of this type has been on loan to The Scottish maritime Museum since 1987.

This modern version comes complete with a road trailer, traditional tan sails and 2hp Honda outboard engine. The out board engine sits in an outboard well when in use.

She has a classic simulated clinker hull. The loose footed lug sails are all tan giving a traditional look, and with no booms to bang heads while under sail. She has a bilge pump and stainless steel fairleads.

A boat that can easily be towed behind the average family saloon , she is ideal for fishing expeditions or exploring coastal creeks and estuaries.
